Please read these terms carefully before enrolling in any program at Studio Martial Arts.
Welcome to Studio Martial Arts, LLC ("Studio Martial Arts," "Studio," "we," "us," or "our"), located in Stone Oak, San Antonio, Texas. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your enrollment, use of our facilities, participation in our programs, and access to our website at www.studiomartialartssa.com.
By enrolling in any program, signing any registration form, or using our facilities, you ("Student," "Parent," or "Guardian") agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not enroll or use our services.
Our Kids Martial Arts program is open to children ages 5–12. Adult programs may have different eligibility requirements as stated at time of enrollment. All students must complete a registration form prior to attending their first scheduled class.
New students may be offered a complimentary trial period (typically two free weeks) as a promotional offer. This trial is offered once per student household and is subject to availability. Trial participants are subject to all Terms set forth herein, including the Safety & Conduct policies.
Full enrollment requires a signed enrollment agreement, completion of required waiver and health forms, and the first month's tuition payment (or applicable session fee). Enrollment is confirmed only upon receipt and processing of all required documentation.
All enrolled students are required to wear the official Studio Martial Arts uniform (gi) during classes. Uniforms are available for purchase at the front desk. Students attending their first two complimentary trial classes may wear comfortable athletic clothing.
Tuition is billed on a monthly basis. Current tuition rates are provided at the time of enrollment and are subject to change with advance written notice. All rates are per student unless otherwise stated.
By enrolling, you authorize Studio Martial Arts to automatically charge your payment method on file on or around the 1st of each month (or the agreed billing date). It is your responsibility to keep payment information current. A returned payment fee may apply for declined transactions.
The following additional fees may apply and are separate from monthly tuition:
Monthly tuition is not prorated for classes missed due to student absence, illness, school events, or personal scheduling conflicts. See Section 3 regarding make-up class options.
Promotional rates, multi-student family discounts, and special offers are applied at enrollment and are non-transferable. Studio Martial Arts reserves the right to modify or discontinue promotions at any time.
Consistent attendance is essential to a student's martial arts development, belt progression, and character growth. We strongly encourage students to attend all scheduled classes. Progress in rank is tied to attendance and demonstrated skill, at the discretion of the instructor.
Students who miss a scheduled class may attend a make-up class within the same calendar month, subject to class availability. Make-up classes do not carry over to subsequent months and cannot be redeemed for credit or refund.
Studio Martial Arts reserves the right to modify class times, days, or instructors with advance notice. We will make reasonable efforts to notify enrolled families of any schedule changes via email or phone. Class cancellations due to holidays or special events will be communicated as early as possible.
Students are expected to arrive on time. Late arrivals should wait at the edge of the mat for an instructor's signal before entering class. Repeated tardiness may affect a student's progress evaluation.
Martial arts is built on a foundation of discipline, respect, and integrity. All students, parents, and guardians are expected to uphold the following standards while on Studio Martial Arts property or representing the school at any event:
Studio Martial Arts has a strict zero-tolerance policy toward bullying of any kind — physical, verbal, or social — whether occurring on our premises, at events, or online among enrolled students. Any student found engaging in bullying behavior may be subject to suspension or permanent dismissal from the program without refund.
Parents and guardians are expected to model respectful behavior at all times. Disruptive, aggressive, or disrespectful conduct toward staff, instructors, or other families is grounds for disenrollment of the associated student(s).
Studio Martial Arts reserves the right to suspend or terminate enrollment for violations of this code of conduct. In cases of immediate safety risk, dismissal may occur without prior warning. No refund of prepaid tuition will be issued for conduct-based dismissals.
Participation in martial arts activities involves physical contact and inherent risk of injury. By enrolling, you acknowledge and voluntarily assume all risks associated with martial arts training, including but not limited to sprains, strains, bruises, and other physical injuries.
As a condition of enrollment, all participants (or their parent/guardian) must sign a separate Liability Waiver and Release Agreement. This agreement releases Studio Martial Arts, its owners, instructors, agents, and employees from liability for injury arising from participation in classes, use of facilities, or attendance at related events — except in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct.
Students under 18 must be dropped off and picked up promptly. Studio Martial Arts is not responsible for supervising minors before or after their scheduled class time. Students left unattended for more than 15 minutes after class ends may result in emergency contact being notified.
Students must use equipment properly and only as directed by an instructor. Misuse of equipment, horseplay on or near the mat, or dangerous behavior may result in immediate removal from class. Damage to equipment or facilities caused by misuse may be billed to the responsible party.
In the event of a medical emergency, Studio Martial Arts staff are authorized to call emergency services (911) on behalf of the student. By enrolling, you consent to emergency medical treatment being sought in the event you or your emergency contact cannot be reached in a timely manner.
Studio Martial Arts may photograph or video record students during classes, belt tests, events, and demonstrations for use in marketing materials, social media, the studio website, and press. By enrolling, you grant Studio Martial Arts a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use such images and recordings for these purposes.
If you do not wish to have your child photographed or recorded, you must submit a written opt-out request to the front desk at the time of enrollment. Opt-out requests received after enrollment will be honored going forward but cannot retroactively remove previously published images.
Students and families who share photos or videos on social media are encouraged to tag the studio. By doing so, you grant Studio Martial Arts permission to re-share such content. We will never share content depicting minors without parental/guardian consent.
Month-to-month enrollments may be cancelled by submitting a written cancellation request to the front desk or via email to sifuram@safreemartialarts.com. Tuition already billed and paid for the current month is non-refundable.
If you have signed a term commitment (e.g., 6-month or 12-month agreement), early cancellation may be subject to an early termination fee as specified in your signed agreement. Medical cancellations supported by a physician's written documentation may be considered for waiver of the termination fee at management's discretion.
Tuition payments are generally non-refundable once a billing cycle has begun. Refund requests for exceptional circumstances (e.g., relocation, documented medical condition) must be submitted in writing within 15 days of the billing date and are reviewed case by case.
Complimentary trial classes (e.g., "2 Free Weeks") carry no monetary value and are not redeemable for cash, credit, or exchange. They expire on the date specified at the time of the offer.
In the event Studio Martial Arts permanently closes a location, students will receive a prorated refund for any prepaid tuition for classes that cannot be delivered.
You are required to disclose any pre-existing medical conditions, physical limitations, allergies, or medications that may affect a student's safe participation in martial arts training. This information is kept confidential and used solely to protect the student's health and safety.
Students who are sick, have a fever, are vomiting, or show signs of a contagious illness must not attend class until they are symptom-free for at least 24 hours. We reserve the right to send home any student who appears unwell during class. This policy protects all students and instructors.
Minor injuries (e.g., bruises, minor scrapes) will be treated with basic first aid on site. Parents/guardians will be notified of any injury that occurs during class. For injuries requiring medical attention, emergency services will be contacted as needed. An incident report will be filed for all documented injuries.
Students returning from a significant injury may be required to provide medical clearance from a licensed physician before resuming full participation. Instructors will work with recovering students to ensure a safe return to training.
