It's just fun since I've been coming year I felt more confident, I felt more feel more energetic you're more active I feel more fit, and healthy. When you come in everybody is so nice and cool and you learn so much focus and patience. It's just fun and awesome!

“I've seen a major improvement in her confidence and her attitude…”

, I am a part of the Martial Arts studio. My daughter has joined in the last couple weeks I've seen a major improvement in her confidence and her attitude. This definitely has improved her personality and I can't wait for my son to join in. The studio has a great ambiance and environment for students to learn Wing Chun. The instructor is amazing with his students especially children. My daughter started two years ago and she was very shy and soft spoken. Over the months, she has gained confidence and the ability to speak in front of her peers. She has not only learnt techniques of wing chun to defend herself but has taken a wealth of knowledge regarding 'life skills', social interactions, what to do in dangerous situations, etc.

“It's a lot of fun, a good work out and a stress reliever."

What I like about the school so far, is a lot of application, especially for someone like me, because being short...5 feet. You can apply a lot of the concepts especially in the real world if something happens it's very applicable. It's a lot of fun, a good work out and a stress reliever.

“it is a path to happiness, well being, and good health”

This is a brief testimonial regarding my experience doing Wing Tsun (Chun). I had originally been training at another Martial Arts Academy before but never has my experience been comparable to this one. I truly wake up looking forward to training with my new martial arts family. Everyone has been quite welcoming of me and my instructors make it evident that they have my best interests in mind. They work at a steady and productive pace but yet they're so patient with every single student. Martial Arts is honestly a life style more so than hobby because it is a path to happiness, well being, and good health. My new experience here at Studio Martial Arts has led to some life changes that I am looking forward to. For example, it has been the reason as to why I have decided to toss out my smoking habit. Martial Arts can do people a lot of good and what's best is the fact that all of the hard work you put in will be worth it in the end. Give your body, mind, and spirit the opportunity to reach levels you never knew existed here at Studio Martial Arts.

“Wing Tsun has changed my life mentally and physically....”

Wing Tsun has changed my life mentally and physically. My name is Ann Whitcher and I've been in WT for almost two years now. Before even considering joining WT I thought to myself I want to be able to defend myself and not feel vulnerable. My experience being in the school is phenomenal. The instructors are amazing they helped me tremendously. The WT fitness class helped me lose weight and made me feel confident about myself. The benefits that I have gained in training are that It helped me to be aware and be prepared. The arts of WT still surprises me till this day. I love my WT family!!!"

“We have been coming to the school for 3 years now, and our son continues to improve and remains excited about training at the school.”

We were looking for a martial arts school for our 4 year old that would teach him how to stay focused on a task for an extended period of time, as well teach him some discipline and how to follow directions from an authority figure, especially as he was getting ready to begin school. In addition, we wanted to expose him to something different than the traditional karate or taekwondo that is usually offered to children of that age group. After some internet searching we found Studio Martial Arts. They teach Wing Chun kung fu, a martial arts style that emphasizes close combat and doesn't rely on brute strength, which in our opinion is ideal for smaller individuals. As far as we know, this is the only school in the San Antonio area that offers classes for children as young as 4 years old. Needless to say, none of this would be possible without Sifu Ram. His young and energetic style is great at keeping his class motivated, and his patience with the kids is commendable. He demonstrates unending positivity. Apart from the martial arts training, Sifu Ram also puts an emphasis on taking time during the class to teach important life lessons as well. We have been coming to the school for 3 years now, and our son continues to improve and remain excited about training at the school. We couldn't be happier with our experience at Studio Martial Arts.

“Absolutely outstanding”

Absolutely outstanding; not only Sifu (teacher) but also the staff are great with the kids. I have been taking my son for over a year. Not only does his Sifu (teacher) teach how to defend in real situations. In addition the school encourages good habits such as healthy eating, book club; chores which are tracked for the student have accountability. Also the school promotes and helps all the students to develop their leadership skills..

“Very family-friendly studio.”

Wonderful place to learn Wing Chun and mixed martial arts! (Wing Chun is the art Bruce Lee learned from Grandmaster Ip Man before he developed his own style.) Sifu Ram de Pena and the instructors are all excellent, patient teachers with positive attitudes! Very family-friendly studio. Excellent physical and mental conditioning. Mr. Miyagi and Daniel-san would give Studio Martial Arts a strong positive recommendation! I highly, highly recommend Studio Martial Arts!!

“I chose this place for three reasons: positive atmosphere, the art is taught built on the previous lessons, and after the free lessons a noticeable change in overall behavior had already taken place.”

I went to three different places to find the perfect fit for my 5 & 6 YO daughters to learn a martial art. I chose this place for three reasons: positive atmosphere, the art is taught built on the previous lessons, and after the free lessons a noticeable change in overall behavior had already taken place. After being with Sifu Rams team for three months my wife and I have noticed a marked increase in focus, confidence, kindness, and discipline. I started doing Kung Fu with my the girls thanks to their buy two and the rest of the family is fee policy. I love the family bonding and retuning my hand eye coordination.

“They provide such positive reinforcement, encouragement, respect, and are excellent role models for children as well as adults.”

I cannot even begin to express my gratitude to Ram, the Sifu and all the other instructors at the studio of martial arts. They provide such positive reinforcement, encouragement, respect, and are excellent role models for children as well as adults. My son has been going to this class since he was in 7th grade, he is now going to be a junior in Highschool and he loved coming to class and seeing the friends he made along the way. I would highly recommend studio martial arts to anyone who is looking for a class for their children or themselves. Especially, if you want a class that will boost self confidence, Sifu and the instructors there are wonderful, you wouldn’t be disappointed.

“I appreciate the focus on applying the studio principles (integrity, perseverance, self-control)...”

This Studio is awesome. The instructors are in constant correspondence with the students and parents regarding progress, goal setting and home dynamics. I appreciate the focus on applying the studio principles (integrity, perseverance, self-control) outside the studio - at home, school, public etc. The instructors consistently exhibit exemplary behavior encouraging students to be positive, respectful, patient and kind. They also have additional activities and participate community activities like Anti-bullying classes, trunk-or-treat and seasonal festivals. My daughter loves the studio and has embraced the challenge of achieving her black belt.

“if you’re looking for a martial arts place that will help with self discipline, confidence, focus and so much more, this is the place!”

I’ve been looking for the right martial arts place to enroll my daughter in, and after a year of searching, I found the right place! My daughter has been going for almost a year and I’ve already noticed progress on her self esteem and confidence. That’s something she’s been having struggles on for a couple years but thanks to the instructors she has done so much better. Everyone is very friendly which makes it a great welcoming environment. My daughter loves going and it’s something she looks forward to every week. So, if you’re looking for a martial arts place that will help with self discipline, confidence, focus and so much more, this is the place! I also had my daughter’s birthday party here recently and it was definitely a blast! Everyone loved it and made the experience stress free and fun!

“I’m more disciplined, I’m more focused in school, and I don’t sit around and do nothing anymore.”

I never really wanted to do anything in my free time when I started getting older, but Kung Fu really has changed my life a lot, even my family can notice the change. I’m more disciplined, I’m more focused in school, and I don’t sit around and do nothing anymore. That’s from almost 4 years of experience. Now that I’m close to my black belt, I have to understand what being a black belt really means to me. What being a black belt means to me, is that I have to act more like a leader, I can’t mess around in class anymore, I can’t talk and say random things when I’m not supposed to, simple things like that, but I also think of stuff more detailed. Being a black belt means that more challenges are to come and I have to be the one to prepare myself for it. I have to be more disciplined than I already am, which means doing things I still don’t usually do without my parents telling me because, one: I’m getting older, which means I have more responsibilities in my life, and two: this is what I signed up for to get my black belt. To add to that I’ve already set my goal to second degree black belt, which I never thought I would do in my life, I didn’t even know it was a thing, but now, after 4 years of Kung Fu, I’m all for it. As I get older I will have to make choices that determine half of what I’m possible gonna do in the future, I’m sure everyone knows that, I just have to make sure as a leader that I actually follow it and don’t give up.

“I feel it has helped me learn how to defend myself, be more confident, self-cautious, and get to my goals.”

My Three Biggest Accomplishments Since I Started Martial Arts When I first started Kung Fu classes at Studio Martial Arts, I wasn’t as confident, self- cautious, independent and a person with more integrity. But when I started Studio Martial Arts I felt better, like if I was improving in something. I am very grateful for being in Studio Martial Arts, I don’t know where I would be now without starting Studio Martial Arts, Kung Fu classes. I think that one of my biggest accomplishment is my self-esteem. I think I have improved a lot on that because of Studio Martial Arts. I feel it has helped me learn how to defend myself, be more confident, self-cautious, and get to my goals. I feel now that because I’ve been in Studio Martial Arts I can handle situations better than before I started Kung Fu lessons. I am very well set forward to all my goals but my biggest one is getting my black belt. I really do actually see myself in a black belt in the near future. Also, thank you Sifu, Mr. Harrison, and Mr. Waylon for making Studio Martial Arts, a better place.

“Studio Martial Arts has helped me with my confidence. Before, I was really shy and wouldn’t talk to people”

My three biggest accomplishments since I started Studio Martial Arts are being more confident, better discipline, and becoming a better leader. Studio Martial Arts has helped me with my confidence. Before, I was really shy and wouldn’t talk to people, except those who I knew closely. I am still a little shy, but I talk to people and am not so distant from others. Though, I am a better listener than speaker, for now. The Studio has also helped me with my discipline, like getting chores done. I used to wait until the very last minute to do certain things and it wasn’t helping me get things done in my life. Now, I am better about not putting things off till the last minute, like homework and such. Lastly, Studio Martial Arts has helped me become a better leader. Being the oldest of five kids is a very challenging ordeal, there are many responsibilities like taking care of the baby and making sure the others get their homework done when Mom and Dad are at work. And leading this crazy bunch has been easier, because Studio Martial Arts has been teaching me to become a better leader. Now, we are still a little chaotic, but we are much more organized than before. Studio Martial Arts has helped not just with family life, but with others not just at school. I have made good friends at the Studio and it is not all kung fu and martial arts, but with leadership and discipline.

“I have worked on learning to control my emotions, especially in calming myself down when things don’t go my way.”

I started Kung Fu at Studio Martial Arts when I was 5 years old. Since then I feel that I have put honesty first in my life. I have learned that it’s important to be honest, even if you get in trouble. Kung Fu has taught me that telling the truth is always the best choice. I have worked on learning to control my emotions, especially in calming myself down when things don’t go my way or if I don’t get what I want. I have learned to step away, breathe and be calm. I have also learned over the last 2.5 years to not give up when I feel like quitting. I’m only a year and a half away from earning my black belt in March 2021. On days that I wanted to quit I reminded myself that if I quit, I would never reach my goal.

In a nutshell, this what we've observed in Katy since she enrolled in your class in Dec. 2013; Katy is beginning to develop enhanced strength, coordination, reflexes, self-confidence and discipline.
